Editing QBW.ini

Hello, I'm having no success editing QBW.ini, Quickbooks 2016 PRO Desktop.  I make a change to one of the values and save the file, but after opening and closing Quickbooks the value returns back to what is was before I edited the file.

Editing QBW.ini

Good evening, ssorg. Thanks for reaching out to the Community. Do you mind going into further detail as to why you are making this change? I want to make sure that you need to do this, as most problems with the QBW.ini file can be resolved by simply renaming the file. I have some steps that will tell you how to rename the QBW.ini. You can find the Qbw.ini in the following locations:

*Some of the folders are hidden, so you will need to turn on hidden folders*

  • C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks[Version] where [Version] is your version of QuickBooks Desktop.
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks [Version] where [Version] is your version of QuickBooks.

Renaming the file usually means to change the filename.extension to Qbw.ini.old.

Let me know if this helps, or if you need anything else.
