Hi how can I delete my Quickbooks intiut Online account? I am an admin user for a company and I cant seem to remove it from my profile. so I want to delete quickbooks?

I'm here to ensure you can delete your Quickbooks Intuit Online (QBO) account successfully, tameka.

 

If you want to delete your Intuit account, you can submit a deletion request to us. You can follow these steps for a seamless process.  

 

  1. Go to accounts.intuit.com and log in to your Intuit account.
  2. From there on, select Data & privacy in the left navigation panel.
  3. Once you're on the page, click the Delete section.
  4. Select Make a delete request.
  5.  Choose the account you'd want to delete data and click on Continue.
  6.  Select the products that you want to delete and click on Continue.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit a delete request.

 

Additionally, you can consider contacting the primary admin of the said account so they can remove you from that company. Since they have the authority to manage users in a QBO account. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Manage users.
  2. Click the ellipsis beside Edit on the users they want to delete, then select the Delete option. 
  3. Press the Delete user from the pop-up window to confirm.

How long does a delete request take???

I need this old account deleted so I can set up my student account for learning purposes but it won't let me because the email I use for school is the email associated to my OLD account.

I need this done for tomorrow morning so I can do the work I need to for school.

The delete request button isn't even working for me it's just spinning on the page.

 

I'm beyond frustrated and get through on the phone either!!!

We truly recognize the urgency, and I'd feel the same if we were in the same situation, Chelsea. Let me take a moment to clarify the process involved in completing your deletion request.

 

When you initiate a delete request, please be aware that the processing time can take as long as 90 days. During this period, it's important to refrain from creating a new Intuit Account with the same email address you used previously. If you choose to do so, there's a risk that any new data associated with that account may also be deleted.

 

Additionally, if you delete your data from Intuit, all associated licenses, and subscriptions will be terminated. The data we refer to includes any personal information you have provided to Intuit. Once your data has been permanently deleted, we will not be able to recover it for you.

 

In the meantime, I recommend setting up a separate email address for your school-related purposes. This is because the process of deleting data associated with your email address requires a period of time.

 

If you ever need to come back to us in the future, you can easily do so by setting up an Intuit account using a different email address from the one you originally registered with. This will allow you to access our services again without any complications.
