How can I create a bespoke report (Quick Ratio Report) from the Balance Sheet and possibly add onto the dashboard..

I'm here to provide an alternative method you can perform to complete your task, @ken-pratt

Currently, creating a Quick Ratio report from the Balance Sheet and add it into the Dashboard isn't available in the program. With this, I'd suggest exporting the Balance Sheet report to Excel. Then, manually calculate the quick ratio from there. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to Reports from the left menu.
  2. Enter Balance Sheet in the Search box and select it.
  3. Set the Report period.
  4. Choose the Accounting method
  5. Select Run report
  6. Click the Export icon and choose Export to Excel.
  7. Save the file on your desktop and click Enable Editing to view the full report.
  8. Manually calculate your business' quick ratio.
  9. Save and print the report.

The screenshot below shows you the third to sixth steps. For the detailed instructions, check out this article: Exporting Reports To Excel

In the meantime, I recommend visiting this website: QuickBooks Online (QBO) Blog. You'll learn more about our latest news and product improvements in this link.

You can always customize your financial reports, like the Balance Sheet, in QBO. It helps you focus on the details that matter the most to you about your business. For more information, see this article's Step 2Customizing Reports

I'll lend a helping hand if there's anything else you need. Keep safe always, @ken-pratt

Raymond, thanks for the 'work around', I have used the export facility extensively in preparation of Annual accounts along with bespoke detailed management accounts. Think Quick Books is missing a trick here... the dashboard is quite useful in pulling together certain key information, however, if the report generator facility for the balance sheet (especially) had a bit more functionality in 'choosing' accounts' then the preparation of the 'Quick Ratio' would be straight forward, users could decide which items in the balance sheet are to be classed as 'Quick'.... If that could then become a 'customised report'... and ticked as a favourite, then 'job done'. Thanks for the speedy response anyway. Ken
