Hello there, @dustinf.
You'll have to visit the Billing & Subscription menu from the Account and Settings page in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you're able to find your Company ID and manage your subscription accordingly. Let me guide you how.
I've attached screenshots below that show the last four steps.
You can learn more about this process through this article: Find your QuickBooks Online company ID.
Additionally, here's an article that'll further guide you in managing the growth of your business using QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about account management, banking, and expenses to name a few. You'll have to click the + More topics button to view more selections.
Let me know if you have other concerns about managing your QBO account or inquiries. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
Sorry if there was confusion. I was looking for the id of a product my company sells and has on invoices. We require the id for our API integration.
Thank you for getting back to us and clarifying your concern, @dustinf.
You can go to the Products and Services page to get the ID of the products or services you've set up in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:
Or you can also run the Product/Service List report to get the details you need. Let me guide you how.
Just in case you want to change the item type for a product or service in the future, you can read this article for the detailed steps and information: Change product and service item types in QuickBooks Online.
Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Have a good day.
Unfortunately, neither of those pages have the option of displaying the id of the product record.
Downloading the list also does not display the id.
The only way I have found the id is to go to the developer site and overwrite an api sample query.
https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/all-entities/item
select * from Item
Otherwise I would have to write code in my integration to get this list.
Just commenting here because I am in the same boat and lol-ing at how unhelpful this support is. They sure could use a developer focused update of these API tools. Some Typescript types would be a nice start on the Node side ;)
Thank you level 1
It's hilarious how bad the support is here. Thank God there are other people who find there own solutions!!
how do you get the code to display? I cant seem to click on the actual item
Hello, @mmillecam,
Could you please provide us with more information about the code you're trying to display and the item you're unable to click on? If possible, please share a screenshot of the issue, but make sure to conceal any sensitive or personal information in your account. This will help us to identify the problem you're experiencing and provide you with an accurate solution.
You can click on the Reply button below to provide us with more details. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Keep safe and have a great day!
This "Issue" in your latest response has wildly diverged from the OP. The issue is that you cannot INTUITively (see what I did there) locate an ItemId, which your API requires.... something that should never require a google search much less an entire thread that gets laughable support responses.
This is less than helpful.
Is there yet any way to easily get the product id numbers out easily without and API call?
Welcome and thank you for joining this Community thread, product id. I see you're looking for an easy way to get the product/item Id for your API resource reference. Allow me to share some details and make sure you'll routed to the forum for this concern.
While you can view and manage products, services, and inventory items within the interface, the item Id are not explicitly displayed or easily accessible. Keep in mind that the interface in QuickBooks Online is designed for user-friendly accounting and bookkeeping. This means, direct access to underlying data such product/item Id for API resource is unavailable.
You can visit our dedicated forum for Intuit Developers so you can ask further information on how you can obtain API data such as product/item Id.
I've also added this articles for more information: What you can do with the QuickBooks Online Accounting API.
If you have any further concerns or questions about QuickBooks Online or its products and services, feel free to leave them in the comments. I'd be happy to help.
