How do we setup an ongoing customized report (not time tracking) that regularly opens to "last week" as Monday-Sunday?

Hi there,@DunedinMusicSociety.

Memorizing a report allows you to save it with its current customization settings, ()which would include your weekly date range of Monday-Sunday!) Here's how:

  1. Find and display the report you want to memorize.
  2. Select Customize.
  3. Once the report is customized the way you like it, select Run report, then Save customization.
  4. In the Custom report name field, enter a descriptive name for the report.
  5. If you want to add this report to a group, select Add this report to a group, then choose an existing group or create a new one. (Note: Grouping reports allows you to organize them in your list of memorized reports. You can then create scheduled emails that send all reports in the group to the recipients you specify. This feature is only available in QuickBooks Online Essentials or Plus.)
  6. If you want to share the report with other users, select Share with, then choose the users. Sharing the report will add it to other users' My custom reports. However, users you invite to the company later on will not automatically receive access to the report - only existing users.
  7. Once the desired options are set, select Save.

Note: If you change the customization on a custom report, you need to save it again to preserve the changes.

How do we setup an ongoing customized report (not time tracking) that regularly opens to "last week" as Monday-Sunday?

Thank you. We have done those steps several times, but the dates never update to last week's Monday-Sunday: the dates stay static and we still have to manually update the dates evert week for every report. As I'm sure you know, QBO's "Last Week" setting is permanently Sunday-Saturday, which is useless for us. Can you help?

Thanks for letting us know the results of the steps you've taken, DunedinMusicSociety.

The moment you save the customized report, the filters including the Report period will stay whenever you pull the report again. Since you're experiencing the other way, let's perform some basic troubleshooting to isolate this issue.

This type of QuickBooks behavior occurs when there's a large data in the cache. Thus, I recommended using a private browser and clearing the cache. Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on your browser to launch a private window:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Once done, open the report again. If it works, return to your regular browsing then clear the cache. If this doesn't work, you can try using other supported browsers to know the cause of this product behavior.

I also have some additional articles about managing a wide range of reports in QBO:

Let me know how this goes. You can always find me here if you have other questions. Wishing you a good one.

How do we setup an ongoing customized report (not time tracking) that regularly opens to "last week" as Monday-Sunday?

Thank you.

Multiple members of our team have spent months clearing caches and restarting machines, and using different browsers.

There are no filter options for x number of days prior to today (for example, "8 days prior to today").
The closest option is "Last Week" which only returns results from the previous Sunday-Saturday. We need reports to run for the previous Monday-Sunday, no matter if the reports are run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.
Can anyone actually help with this issue? I tried really hard to make the original problem clear, and I'm not sure how better to describe it to be honest. So far the answers given are not addressing the issue.
Thank you.

We have also exhaustively searched the help articles and community forums several times over the past months to no avail. It appears as though a large number of users have been experiencing the same issue for years:

Thank you for taking the time to update this thread, @DunedinMusicSociety.

Beyond memorizing a report to save your preferences,  this feature is still unavailable to run the report for days of the week specifically.

I’m happy to share this feedback with our Development Team on your behalf for consideration in future updates. To keep you updated about the latest features being rolled out, visit the QuickBooks Blog page.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else, I'm just a post away! Take care.

Please do, Jessica! Thank you. Setting up every report manually every week is adding a great deal of inefficient time to our otherwise productive routines and workload. The inability to set a company first day of the week for reporting purposes seems quite remarkable in the 21st century!

I saw the other thread asking for this feature at the beginning of 2018, I've submitted feedback requesting this at least three times starting back in 2019, and we still do not have Monday-Sunday weeks.

We appreciate you reaching out to this forum, newyorktutor.

I understand the convenience of having the option that is configured regularly as Monday to Sunday reporting periods for the Last Week's customized reports. Currently, this option is unavailable since memorizing these customizations will require you to modify its date period to the latest reporting dates. As we assess this idea in improving our product features, I'd suggest sending this feedback directly to our product engineers. They'll consider having this option and include them in our future product enhancements.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback under Profile.
  2. Enter your feedback or suggestion.
  3. Click Next to submit.

You can also visit our QuickBooks Online Blog to be updated about our latest happenings. Through this, you're able to get the newest news, features, and updates about QuickBooks Online and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Moreover, I've included this guide to help you save recently modified customizations on your reports: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online
