How to backup company file from the online version

If you are not using QBO Advanced, you can use a backup restore app

Another option, convert your data to QB Desktop as archive files. You can use the trial version for good to access the files.

How to backup company file from the online version

Hi, em. I'm here to assist you with saving a backup copy of your files in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, you can easily create a backup copy of your file by exporting your reports, lists, and other data to Excel. Here's how:

  1. Click on Export data from the Gear icon.
  2. Select the data you want to export
  3. Tap on Export to Excel.
  4. Save a copy of the Excel file on your computer.a27 1.PNG

You may also utilize this article as your reference: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

If you have QBO Advanced, you can use this material as your reference to save a copy of your data: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced Company.

Let me know if you have other questions while saving a backup copy of your file. I'm just a few clicks away to help you again. Keep safe!

How to backup company file from the online version

Gotta love how QuickBooks is taking us all to the bank.  If you buy subscription for desktop it's 649.00.  The basic online version is 360.00, BUT.....  You can only back up your company with excel spreadsheets.  If you want to have back up and recovery, it'll cost you 1800.00.  WOW.  Now keep in mind, you can buy the 360.00 version and add a back up service, but.....  that back up service will cost you 180.00. So your REAL total for the basic quickbooks online is 360.00 + 180.00 = 540.00. Since quickbooks has a monopoly on the bookkeeping industry, you really have no choice.  Buy the inexpensive version and pray their online servers don't crash or pay 2 times that amount for the desktop version, which just keeps going up and up each year.

If you don't need to run any add-ons (e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment), you can use QB Desktop with a non subscription license.
