We are many customers facing the same issue and looking for alternative. I am quiet sure this would take just a few hours for the developers to fix, this issue need to be escalated to the right team at Quickbooks so we can finally move on...

To provide some context, the Shopify team made a modification that disrupted our authentication process. We’ve been working with Shopify and our teams to resolve the matter, and we now have a resolution in place.
You will be able to connect Shopify Balance to QuickBooks Online now.
If true it is resolved I am glad to hear it. This went unresolved for at least SEVEN months. Based on your description of the root cause, I can’t even begin to understand how it could have taken this long.
This failure to address the problem in a reasonable timeframe also cost me at least 2 work weeks of additional effort working around it. Canceled my QBO because of it. Not sure I want to jump back in to that frying pan again
