I understand the importance of being able to view your entries in the General Ledger (GL) so you can continue with your tasks, Ganesh. Let's work together to ensure you'll get past this.

Kindly note that QuickBooks Online (QBO) relies on the information shared by Shopify for the integration. It is possible that the workflow configuration may have been set up incorrectly after the integration, which could be causing the issue you are experiencing.

Below are the workflows being selected to demonstrate the full capabilities of the setup process:

  • Sales from Shopify will be sent to QuickBooks as an Invoice.
  • Payouts from Shopify will be sent as Deposits in QuickBooks.
  • Products from Shopify will be created in QuickBooks.
  • Stock Level Updates from QuickBooks will be sent to Shopify.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Shopify and QuickBooks Online Integration Guide.

However, if your configuration was correctly set up, I recommend contacting Shopify support for further investigation. They will be able to assist you in troubleshooting the integration and resolving any potential issues.

In the meantime, as a workaround, I suggest connecting Shopify with the Commerce feature within QBO. This will help establish a more seamless connection between the two platforms and ensure accurate data synchronization. Let me walk you through the steps of how:

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Commerce tab.
  2. On the Overview tab, click Connect sales channel.
  3. Select Shopify as a channel you want to connect to, then click on Next.
  4. Continue the onscreen process.

To learn more information about the e-commerce feature in QBO, kindly visit: Common questions about accounting for e-commerce in QuickBooks Online.

I will also provide you with an article that can offer you a concise overview of your business within QuickBooks: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please feel free to leave a reply below if you require any additional assistance or have any other concerns related to QuickBooks. I am here to help and provide support whenever you need it.

Thanks. I have indeed used QBO commerce to do the integration at this point. However, while the orders are populated in QBO from Shopify, I do not see the entries reflecting for sales. Will the entries only reflecting when Shopify does the settlement ?

Honestly, using a third-party app like Synder makes things so much easier. A few clicks and you're done, it saves me a ton of time every day. I’d totally recommend going with something like Shopify + Synder + QuickBooks. Plus, they’ve got a bunch of integrations, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
