I forgot to enter an invoice from last year. The payments were in 2019(and are entered as such) and the service was in 2019 but quickbooks for Mac won't let me set the date in 2019 when entering the invoice. Because the invoice date is today's date, the income is showing as 2020 instead of 2019

Hi JulieHixson,
I appreciate your time and effort in performing the troubleshooting steps.
When using QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, you'll have the option to change the date located on the right side of your invoice. Since the Verify and Rebuild tool didn't resolve the issue, I suggest contacting our phone support so they can investigate if other users are experiencing the same issue. They also have the tools to pull up your account securely.
Here's how to reach them:

Hi, JulieHixson.
If you close your books through the QuickBooks, this process protects the transactions from being edited or deleted. A user must know the closing date password and have the appropriate permissions to modify or delete a transaction in a closed period.
See this article for more details: Set or change a closing date and closing date password.
However, if you haven't closed your books yet, verifying and rebuilding your data is a good start when it comes to fixing data-related issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you for your help. Nothing was closed out. I did the verify and the rebuild but that still doesn't help me to change the invoice date on this one invoice. The income is still showing up in 2020. There are no passwords set anywhere. There is no way to change the invoice date (see attached). My previous version of Mac Quickbooks allowed you to change or input the invoice date. What am I missing?
Not sure my previous reply posted. First, thank you for helping. I ran the verify and the rebuild, but that didn't fix anything. I haven't closed it out and there are no passwords on the closing etc. I am the only one that uses the software. The invoice is still showing up as income for 2020 and there is no way for me to change the date. When I begin an invoice, there is no place to put the date. When I pull up an invoice that I have already entered, there is no place to change the date. I would swear that I could set the date in the previous version of Mac Quickbooks. I'm including a screenshot of the invoice screen.

Thank you so much! In case anyone else has issues, after calling support we discovered that some of the 'checkmarks' in the invoice template (in 'Invoice Fields') did not import to version 2020 from my previous version. This was so simple but it never occurred to me to check whether I had the date ticked to show up on my screen in the 'create invoice' field since it was checked in the previous version.
Thank you again!
