some of the transactions from previous month that were already reconciled still show and some payments from the past months are not applied to invoices so invoice show that they still open

@roberto-ramirez-

Why don't you switching back to QB Desktop?

Thank you for your prompt reply, Roberto.

Let's fix your reconciled transactions and open invoices after transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When you convert your data from QBDT to QBO, you may notice differences in how your books appear. This is due to the import limitations and feature differences between the two.

All your transactions that have been reconciled prior to the conversion process will have an status in your register's cleared/checkmark column. Once you're seeing some unreconciled items, you'll have to manually reconcile them. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Find the bank account from the list and click View register.
  4. Locate and select the transaction you want to update.
  5. Select the box in the checkmark column until you see an R. This manually reconciles the transaction.
  6. Click Save, then Yes to confirm. Repeat the steps as necessary. 80.PNG

On the other hand, when it comes to your open invoices, you'll have to manually apply their payments to keep your sales and income data accurate. Go to the Sales menu to complete this task.

Also, after moving your file, there are additional steps you should take to ensure your data is good to go. I recommend checking out this article for more information on those steps: What to do after you move from QuickBooks Desktop for Windows or Mac to QuickBooks Online.

If you have other reconciliation concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO, I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, Roberto.

@roberto-ramirez-

Who said that? You can still purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus. You have to call their sales team to get it. Otherwise, you can purchase it through selected partners (tax exempt, no credit card required).

YES!  I have been trained and been working in desktop for 5 years and have recently started working in Online for my son's business and I feel totally LOST and frustrated doing his bookkeeping!  It's a challenge every single time I get online because I am not in his account that often.  Using the checkbox in the reconciling ???.  I also find it very confusing having to look for the transactions that look like they didn't get downloaded into the register.  They are in Online you just have to go approve them from an entirely different screen.  They couldn't have made it anymore dissimilar and now they are discontinuing DESKTOP and forcing everyone to go online in May.

Quickbooks you seriously need to do a comparison class to show desktop users how to do the tasks on the online version that they are used to doing in desktop.  Basically, you need a what is called in aviation as a "Differences training". Please.  If you are going to force us to all go online please provide a transition training class.
