Good evening, @miriam-aylward-t

I appreciate you coming here with your question about an online back-up and restore for your QuickBooks Online account.

To clarify, can you provide some additional details about your question with only connecting to one admin account?

In the meantime, I recommend reviewing this guide about online back-ups and restoring your data

I'll be waiting for your response!

Thanks, Candace! We have multiple admins for our company. However, only one admin can view the digital backups which means if that person leaves we won't have access to them. I'm hoping there is a way that multiple admins can access the company backups, or at least have their own.

@miriam-aylward-t

You can use a 3rd party backup restore app.

I appreciate you for getting back to us, Miriam.

The Backup and restore feature in QuickBooks Online Advanced can be accessed by the primary or company admins. I'm here to help with how this feature works.

Aside from a digital backup, you can also link your Google Drive or Dropbox account to create a backup file of your QuickBooks Online data. Below are the steps to do so:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Back up company.
  2. Sign into your Intuit Account, then select Authorize to continue.
  3. Click User.
  4. Choose either Link Google Drive or Link Dropbox.
  5. Follow the steps to allow QuickBooks to create backups.

Once done, you can restore the data. Here's an article as your guide: Restore your data from a backup.

Moreover, in case you want to use the data of the existing company to start anew, you can create a copy of it instead of a backup. You can pin this link to know more: Make a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.

Keep me posted whenever you have concerns about backing up your data.

Thanks - can you confirm is the backup is accessible 1.) by only the primary or admin or 2.) both at the same time?

Keeping your business right on track is our priority, Miriam. I'm here to share additional insights to address your queries when accessing backup data.

Yes, primary admins of the account can access the backup copy at any time. If your primary contact admin and company admin are two different individuals, they are eligible to view the data saved at the same time on your Google Drive or Dropbox.

However, when restoring the backup data to your online account, it's best to ensure all users are signed out from the program to make sure your file won't be overwritten, and recent changes will then seamlessly restore.

Additionally, you may utilize this reference to help you fix copy and restore issues of your backup file: Make a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company. It also includes information if you wish to create a black company file.
