Is there a deposit summary report? I need a grand total of deposits year to date. The deposit detail report does not total...

Let's pull up the Transaction Detail by Account instead so you can get the grand total of your year-to-date deposits in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

For the time being, there isn't a specific deposit summary report or a customization option to total the deposit detail report in QBO. Instead, you can pull up and customize the Transaction Detail by Account to get the data you need. To do this, here's how:

1. Go to Business overview, then select Reports, or go to Reports.
2. Use the Find report by name search bar to find and open the Transaction Detail by Account.
3. Select Customize.
4. Set the Report period.
5. Go to the Rows/Columns section to change columns if necessary.
6. In the Filter section, set the Transaction Type field to Deposit. Then, change the Distribution Account and Account fields if necessary.
7. Click the Run Report button.

I am trying to run Deposit Detail Report from Quick books desk top. I want it to show the deposits plus any credits that were applied to those invoices that a payment was applied to.

You can set specific filters on your Deposit Detail Report to get it to display credit memos linked with invoices.

Here's how:
 

1. In the top menu bar, go to Report, then Banking.
2. Choose your Deposit Detail Report.
3. Once it's opened, click Modify Report.
4. From the Modify Report window, access your Filters tab.
5. Specify which Transaction Type filter you'd like to report on. For credits, you can pick Credit Memo.
6. Select OK to save the changes.

You can also memorize your report by using the Memorize option at the top of it.
