If your subscription-based QuickBooks Desktop expires, you'll no longer be able to use or access your account. Your company file will remain on the computer, but you will need to reactivate your subscription to view or open the data.
As a workaround, you can download and install a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Then, you can open your company file and migrate your data to QuickBooks Online.
Before doing so, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support first and asking if they can convert your file so you can use the trial version of QuickBooks. Use this link to initiate a chat session: Contact Us.
Once you're able to open your data on the trial version, you can now move your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Check out this article for more detailed information: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
