BLACK FRIDAY SALE 70% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months* Ends 11/30
Buy nowI'm running Quick Books Desktop Plus Pro 2024 on Parallels with Windows 11 Professional. This is running on my Mac Laptop with M2 Max chip with OS Sequoia 15.7.2.
Latest update Quick Books in unstable.....
After Uninstalling QB and doing a clean install of QB
I open QB and do not select a file. I get to the updates and get updates. Starting with update notice that appears after the update has completed. I get a dialog box with just a ok button and no text. I restart my VM, relaunch QB, it goes through the updating QuickBooks...... I restart my VM again. I open QB, the first window QB opens with the logo, display's weird, it grabs a piece of my desktop as background to the logo in a square. I open an existing file and restore from a backup. The file opens, I enter the password... The File opens up. I close the file and QB quits. I open QB again and it starts to open but need gets to the opening logo. It just becomes non responsive. Then I have to use task manager to close the app and start all over again. Sometimes the file will open again. The furthest I have gotten is installing the payroll updates and then QB crashes.
Things I have tried.
All QB hub tools.
QB file tool.
I created a new VM and have installed windows 11 and clean install of QB.
That has not worked.
I have spent 30 hrs trying to get this to work.
Please Help
This issue has been known about for weeks, and they haven't bothered to fix it. Support argues that they only recommend running QB Desktop Pro Plus and Premier Plus natively on PC. If you're running QB for a single user, I recommend my clients use the QB Desktop Mac 2024 trial version for a while as a workaround.
We appreciate the time and effort you’ve dedicated to troubleshooting this compatibility issue with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) running in a virtualized environment on Parallels, tdignan. To help you further investigate and resolve this, we recommend contacting our Live Support team.

That is a great temp solution until QB figures it out. But, I'm a database engineer and I write code for databases to interact with QB. Pushing and pulling info.
I just got off with QB live support and they told me the same thing you wrote in your response. FUBAR!
Personally, I think they are just try to push us to online version.
Ok, After the QB Online Support was done, he passed me on to a sales team member. He said that support for QB Desktop Pro Plus was ending soon ( He would not give me a timeline) He just said soon. My 2 options were to upgrade to Enterprise or convert to online. My 3rd option is to purchase a new pc and run QB Desktop Pro Plus. I need to do a cost analysis. Intuit has me by the cojones and they are squeezing.
I'm confused. Why was the Support Team suggesting you upgrade to QB Desktop Enterprise? Have you tried running Enterprise in Parallels without any issues?
So, I upgraded to Enterprise because I was going to need to eventually.
I tried all day, trying to get Enterprise to on Parallels and it DOES NOT work either. Same issue. Never trust the sales person.
