Recover custom reports

The representative advised me the way to remove 2-step verification from my account is to delete my user. The 2-step verification, was not removed, because once the master admin added my email back, I was still asked to call the number I set. I was informed that in all this process the information will not be lost. But login back in, I lost 30 custom reports. How do I recover them back?

Recover custom reports

This must be a challenging experience for you, Oana Palade.

Turning off two-step verification shouldn't remove your custom reports. This process is for the security setting and is used upon signing in to your account.

Let's check the Audit log first to trace those missing custom reports. This is to determine if they're caused by unexpected behavior. Or they were accidentally deleted or removed in QuickBooks Online.

Here’s how you do it.

  1. Select the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, choose Audit log.
  3. Click the Filter button.
  4. Select the necessary details.
  5. Press Apply.

If they were deleted or removed, you're unable to retrieve or undo the changes made to the deleted custom reports. You need to run the report again, then save the customization to save it back in the Custom reports tab.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and open the report that you want.
  2. Click Customize Report and make the changes that you want.
  3. Click Save customization

I've also attached this guide about customizing reports: Chapter 11 Reports in QuickBooks. It contains instructions on how to manage them.

Please get back to me here with updates about your report situation. I'll be right here to help you.

Recover custom reports

Your customer representative advised the master admin to delete my user and add it back again. So yes, this deleted my custom reports. Thank you for your reply.
