I was switched from Intuit Payroll to QuickBooks Online Payroll. Presumably, it is still not possible to merge my new Payroll account to my existing QuickBooks Online Accounting accounting. (I need to sign out, and sign in--with the same credentials--to switch between my accounting and payroll accounts.) So, I need to export all my payroll transactions to my accounting. For the last two months, I've had an error and cannot export. At all. I can't even access the export settings. I've also been told there is no workaround. So, I've been manually entering every single line of every payroll check and payroll tax entry. It is extremely time-consuming and disruptive, and I cannot believe it's been months with absolutely no communication. I am checking in with customer service once every week or so, and still being told that QuickBooks is working on it.
Is there any update on an ability to merge the payroll account with the accounting account?
Is there any update for a fix to this major exporting problem?
Are other people experiencing this? Has anyone found an alternative workaround or fix?
I appreciate you for contacting our support,

As of now, the investigation about exporting from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online Payroll is still in progress. Since you already contacted our phone agents, you'll receive an update once this issue is resolved.

I have been experiencing this exact issue since the end of September - we are a company with over 30 employees so being the ONLY person in this department has made me really re-evaluate switching to a different payroll and bookkeeping software all together. Have you received any updates at all? I have had to call them back every week or so for information and to try to fix it on their end as the ONLY "updates" they ever provide are at the end of the conversation saying the case is open and they will keep us updated...If anyone has any tips or tricks to get this fixed, OR advice on another company to try, I would be very grateful!!
I received an "update" a couple weeks ago that the investigation was resolved and the issue was fixed. It was not. Nothing has changed and all the errors act exactly as they did before.
I'm also the only person in my department, and I am at my wit's end with this. I spent ANOTHER three hours or so on chat/phone with support after this "update" going in the same circles. Between manually entering everything, and re-hashing the same customer service over and over, it's like another part time job.
I very much hope the bad luck here is only mine, and your error was resolved!
Nope!! Still no resolve here! I did call them (again) yesterday and they added me to the investigation (AGAIN) and gave me yet another case number, so I will be calling again next week if we still aren't fixed. For such a massive company with so many clients, this is unreal and unacceptable.
I hope this clears up for you soon as well! I will keep watching this feed for updates. Happy New Year!
There is a serious problem with Intuit's QBO Payroll, at least one that many users like myself are experiencing. I have a stand-alone account with QBO Payroll and also one with QBO. Intuit set up the two separate accounts because I was an Intuit Online Payroll customer before signing up with QBO. The migration was painstaking but once finished, everything worked beautifully, up until January 2024. Not, QBO Payroll (stand-alone) will not export to my QBO account and so my P&L's are only picking up the expense from the associated checking account. But it does not categorize the transaction into a payroll associated account and does not put any of the deductions and other payroll expenses into their appropriate accounts either. It used to but now it does not. QBO Payroll help is no help and is aware of the problem but can't find a work around. IF QBO Payroll could export to a resident file that QBO could import and put the expenses in the right place, perhaps. But it can't and so now I'm paying for services not provided. Consequently, I'm shopping for both a payroll service and accounting software.
I'm so over this - I've got the same issue. I had to escalate it to the Office of the President (haven't been able to export since December). It was suppose to be fixed 5/1/2024. Now I try to export and get an error - Required parameter Line.AccountBasedExpenseLineDetail.AccountRef is missing in the request
Spent just shy of 1.5 hours on chat with support but had to get off because of a meeting. I need someone to fix this without me basically sitting on hold for hours.
I am having the same issue as well. I am trying to switch to Online instead of desktop but I am now having to enter all of the payroll items manually into QB Online and it is so frustrating. They will still import to my desktop version. I am afraid to give up my desktop version even though the bank import will end on May 31st. If they are going to end this service, they need to make sure their online version works correctly. I too have called many times with no resolution. It seems that I may know more about the software than the techs that try and help me.
