Let me share some information to help move forward about matching downloaded bank data.
QuickBooks will scan your bank data and search for matches, rules, and recognized transactions. If you have set up bank rules, the program uses them to classify the entries. Aside from that, it suggests categories for each downloaded entry.
When the program looks for matches, it reviews the books for recorded transactions. Once it finds a possible match, you’ll see the “1 record found” under the Category or Match column. Then, review the transaction details and choose Match if it’s the right one.
For more insights into the process, check out this article. It provides detailed information on why bank data is unable to find a match. From there, you’ll find the complete steps on how to review, categorized, and match your bank data: Categorize and match online bank transactions.
I’m also adding some articles to help efficiently organize and manage your bank feeds entries.
If you have any clarifications or questions, leave a comment below. I’ll be glad to answer them for you. Have a good one.
Hi,
Thank you for replying. Everything used to work exactly as you describe. But now, it is not showing the possible matches, with the 1 record found. The operator on the help call said it was a new software update and hopefully they will fix it soon. Does no one know about this yet?
Let me join this thread and share some details on how to fix this, pasion007.
It's possible that you're in the business view. This results in a different interface and unable you to see the matched entries. All you need to do is go to the Gear icon and click the Switch to Accountant view link.
Once done, go back to the Banking page to categorize and match online bank transactions.
