What accounts and line items appear in the equity section of your nonprofit's balance sheet?

Hello there, manderso416.

I'm here to share what are the accounts and line items that'll show in the Equity section of your nonprofit's balance sheet. This way, you'll get to familiarize them and monitor your business transactions.

For the nonprofit organizations, the balance sheet is also called the Statement of Financial Position report. It shows what you own (assets), what you owe (liabilities), and what you invested (equity).

Here are the complete list of accounts and line items in the Equity section of the Statement of Financial Position report:

  • Dividend
  • Opening Balance Equity
  • Owner's Pay & Personal Expenses
  • Net Revenue

To pull this up, you can visit the Reports menu or by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Under the Favorites section, select Statement of Financial Position
  3. Set the Report period and the Accounting method.
  4. Click Run Report.

Moreover, financial reports tell you about different aspects of your business. You can customize them to focus on specific details you want. If you wish to learn more about it, kindly refer to this article's Do more with reports in QuickBooks section: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It contains hyperlinks about memorizing and customizing reports to name a few.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
