Why are budget amounts missing in my budget vs. actuals report?

Let's figure out why some of your budget amounts aren't showing in the report, abreault-hcfirst.

As long as we create transactions and budget that affects particular accounts, we'll be able to see them in the Budget vs. Actual report.

First, let's make sure to customize the report correctly. This is to ensure we'll generate data according to our needs. Here's how:

  1. Open the Budget vs. the Actual report.
  2. Click the Customize button.
  3. Include all the information you need.
  4. Choose the correct budget and make sure to set the reporting period correctly.
  5. Click Run report to reflect the changes.

If the same thing happens, we can use a private browser or an incognito window to isolate this. This prevents your browser from storing additional cache files, which can cause QuickBooks to perform odd behavior. We can follow the steps below.

  • For Chrome, press and hold Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Firefox, press and hold Ctrl Shift P.
  • For Safari, press and hold Command Shift N.

If the report goes well, we can clear the cache and temporary internet files to optimize the browser's performance. Another way is to use compatible browsers with QuickBooks Online

Please let me know if you have more concerns about viewing the amount and other details in QuickBooks reports. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care always.

Why are budget amounts missing in my budget vs. actuals report?

I was able to determine which budget was being used to generate the report.  I thought it was running the report on a particular budget but it was a different one in the list.  So I went into the one associated with the report and made sure all the budget amounts were entered.  Which does solve the current problem.  I plan to work with the budget for each class we have.

Thanks for trying to help.

Why are budget amounts missing in my budget vs. actuals report?

This seems to be an issue with the transition from the old reports to modernized reports.  The modernized version shows the budgeted amounts.

Let’s work together to troubleshoot this issue and ensure that your budget reflects the correct amounts in the modernized reporting format, @triciajz.

Missing budget amounts can sometimes result from your browser accumulating excess data, which affects how reports are displayed. I recommend accessing the report in an incognito window to allow you to access the product with a clean slate.

Depending on your browser, you can use the following shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If the amount is showing, please return to your regular browser and clear the cache for a fresh start. Additionally, switching to other supported browsers could also be worth a shot.
