Good day, lross. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to ensure the Shipping State field populates correctly on your reports.
Before proceeding, may I know which report you pulled up? Please review the invoices with no shipping state on the report to ensure you've assigned or entered one. You may also want to check if you've set up a shipping address in the customer's profile.
Once done, we can start accessing your QuickBooks account via incognito or private window. This mode doesn't retain cache, so we can verify if it is a webpage issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use:
From there, run the report again to see if the shipping state is displayed correctly. If it works, I recommend clearing the default browser's cache. You can also use other supported browsers to isolate this issue.

The report is "Sales by State". I followed your instructions. The issue continues. I added "Shipping Address" to the report and observed for some invoices, QBO interprets "Shipping Address" as only the Street Address. In those cases, "Shipping State" is correctly identified. In other words, QBO is correctly parsing shipping address into its constituent parts - recipient, street address, city, state, zip code.
For other invoices, QBO interprets shipping address as the entire 3-5 line address record. It's failing to parse the address into its constituent parts. In those cases, "Shipping State" is not correctly identified. A blank dash is returned instead of the state. I hope this helps you to identify the root cause of the issue.
I understand that running reports with the shipping state field on your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is important to your business, Iross.
The shipping address entered or shown on your invoice will also be reflected in the Shipping address section of the report. Since the troubleshooting steps didn't work and the shipping state still isn't recognized, it's best to contact our support team. They'll investigate the issue further and find more solutions.
