Congratulations on successfully moving your data to QuickBooks Online, localflavorfilms. I know it's rough when you encounter discrepancies when comparing the reports. I'm here to assist you with that.
It may be that duplicate transactions occurred during the import process. I'd recommend comparing the balance using the Accounts Receivable Aging Summary report on both programs. Then, let's delete the transactions in QuickBooks Online that aren't supposed to be included on the file.
Before proceeding, please make sure the reporting period is set to All Dates and the accounting method is Accrual. QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online don't track transactions as paid the same way. Reports may not match using cash basis.
Once you've determined the transactions that cause the discrepancies, we can now delete them in QuickBooks Online. I'll show you how:
If you have the new interface, you can locate the Chart of Accounts by going to the Bookkeeping menu. Then, follow the rest of the steps above.
