Good evening, @dwade1.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
With Online Payroll, you can resolve the overpayment to make your tax forms and reports correct. Depending on which kind of payroll you're using, with QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced here's how:
For more detailed information about recording an overpayment in QuickBooks Online, you can refer to this article: Resolving a tax overpayment.
Feel free to comment below if you have any more questions. Have a good one.
I must not have the version you reference, as I don't have a PAY TAXES option. I did notice the form I was mailed w/ the credit on it had our old address on it, but the employer acct # is correct. I was going to try to see if there was a way to upload this form to them, but I don't see anything like that either. It makes me crazy not being able to talk to a person anymore, or to have any kind of communication avenue that deals w/ old style problems (paper that needs to be addressed somehow).
If there are any other suggestions, I am open~
Thanks in advance~
Thanks for getting back to us, @dwade1.
The Pay Taxes option is available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) once your payroll is activated. Rest assured that I've got the steps to resolve this.
One possible cause of this is the stored cache may be full. I'd suggest logging in your QBO account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a great place to determine if it's a browser-related issue.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Once signed in, you'll have to perform the steps given by my colleague. If you're able to view the Pay Taxes option, let's clear the cache of your main browser. This helps remove its stored cache so it'll improve the program's performance.
However, if it doesn't work, I recommend using different browsers. These browsers can provide you the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks. To learn more, check out this article: System Requirements for QBO.
If the issue persists, you can speak to our Customer Care Team through the Contact us feature in QuickBooks Online.
Also, for more details about handling tax credit, you can browse this article for more details: Resolving a tax overpayment.
Additionally, I've included an article that'll guide you in entering tax payments made for prior tax periods. This will help you avoid overpayment: Recording prior tax payments.
Let me know how it goes, dwade1. I'm always here to help. Take care always.
