Sales tax liability report doesn't show non-taxable total

Starting with February, the sales tax liability report does not show the true taxable and non-taxable totals. It shows zero for non-taxable amount. The tax amount is correct.

Sales tax liability report doesn't show non-taxable total

Hello there, Ray.

I'm glad to provide information about the option to view the total amount of Taxable and Non-Taxable in the Sales Tax Liability report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, the updated Sales Tax Liability Report will now include the Gross Sales, Non-Taxable Sales, Taxable Sales, and Tax amounts but not the totals for Non-taxable.

If you want to pull up a non-taxable sales report, you can run the Taxable Sales Detail and customize it. I'll guide you on how.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the search field, key in and select Taxable Sales Detail.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. Select the date range in the General dropdown.
  5. On the Filter dropdown, tick the check box for Customer Taxable to list all customers with non-taxable sales. Next, check the Distribution Account, then All Income/Expense Accounts from the dropdown to hide the A/R Source line on the report. Finally, hit the Product/Service Taxable, then Non-Taxable from the dropdown to show the report as Taxable Sales Detail when you run the Non-Taxable Sales Report.
  6. Then, click Run Report.

I'm leaving these articles for further guidance in personalizing reports and on how you can save them with its current customization settings so you can access them in the future:
