Trial Balance report, exported to excel is all ZEROS. Why?

The .pdf version of the report is good, has data, but if we export it to excel, the all the numbers are zero. What causes this?

Hi there, @ljonesver.

I'll help you view your exported Trial Balance report in Excel. Upon checking, I've got the same error as you. Don't worry, I've already found a solution to fix the problem.

Once you export your files, they will be downloaded from the internet onto your computer. When you open it in Microsoft Excel, the software uses a Protected View feature to safeguard your data. This is why all numbers in the report are showing zero.

To fix the issue, simply click the Enable Editing section which is highlighted in the Excel window. This will enable you to view and edit the information on the report.

I've also added here a link that you can check out about exporting reports in QuickBooks Online: Export reports, lists, and more.

Please let me know if you need further assistance in viewing your reports in Excel. Just add a reply so I can assist you with your task. Have a good one.

Hi there, GEPIES. I appreciate the details you shared about your issue when exporting from QuickBooks. Let me point you to the right direction on how to address this.

Since exporting your data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to PDF is functioning properly, the issue is isolated to Excel. I suggest checking your Microsoft Office if it's updated. If you're not sure how to update it, feel free to reach out to your IT support or contact Microsoft Office support directly for help.

Furthermore, you can check this article if you want to focus on specific details in your financial reports: Common custom reports in QuickBooks Online.
