A few days ago, I tried to create a Sales Order in the usual way by clicking New>Sales Order.
Unfortunately, I was suddenly unable to gain access rights to my Sales Orders.
This should not be happening, since I am the account administrator.
I also have an Accountant account in my email and tried to access it that way. No luck.
I did all the usual things, signed out and in again. Tried a reboot, and still no change.
I contacted tech support. Did the screen share but they couldn't get it to work either.
It is now escalated, and I will get an email when it is fixed.
If I wait for them, I wouldn't be able to enter any income. Everything else is working!
Today, I determined that there is a work-around, while Intuit tries to figure it out.
On the Dashboard, there is a box called Shortcuts. On the lower right corner click the 3 vertical dots.
Next click Edit Shortcuts. A list of shortcuts will come up. You can choose up to 10.
Choose "Create Sales Receipt" as one of them.
Now, whenever you want to enter a Sales Receipt, you can access it there. It will work, for some reason!!
At least there is a way to keep in business, while Intuit tries to figure out what they did wrong.
Yes, you're correct that you can create a Sales Order using the Shortcuts from the Dashboard section. To view other features, you can also click the Show All. These shortcuts are designed to provide easy access to features that support various aspects of your business.
On the other hand, could you please provide more details about the reboot troubleshooting you mentioned? This will help me understand what steps you've taken so far.
Additionally, if you haven’t tried browser troubleshooting, I recommend opening your QBO account on a private window as these may affect performance and lead to errors in any application.
If you are now able to create a sales order, you can now clear your cache for a fresh start in your browser. Alternatively, consider switching to other supported browsers.
If the same concern persists after troubleshooting, I recommend contacting our support team again for a thorough investigation. They have the necessary tools to help identify the issue and provide an additional solution.
After recording a sales order, you can proceed to send an invoice to your customer, informing them of the payment details and due date.

Hi KayePe:
Please note, I am still not able to get access rights in Sales Orders.
The details of my rebooting troubleshooting are as follows:
My first attempt was to shut down and re-start QB Online. Often times, that simple restart will fix a simple glitch.
Since that didn't help, I signed out again from my regular account, and then signed in under my Accountant account. I set myself up with an accountant account since it gives me some additional capabilities that my regular account doesn't. (Ex. ability to undo last reconciliation). I got the same error under that account as well.
I then did a hard re-boot of my computer. In my preferences, I have it set up to clear my Recycle Bin, Cookies and cache.
After the reboot, I tried to sign back in under my regular account email, only to find I am still not able to gain access to my Sales Orders. I signed out again, and signed in under my Accountant email (2 different email addresses), and the results were the same.
I then discovered I had the "Create Sales Receipt" shortcut listed in the Shortcuts box, and that shortcut was able to open the Sales Receipt page, which was what i was after all along.
I hope this helps
