Unique Line ID for Transactions in General Ledger Report

Hi,

I’m working with the General Ledger report through the API, and I’ve noticed that for transactions with multiple lines (such as an invoice), there is no unique identifier for each line within the same transaction ID. This makes it difficult to track changes or map lines when comparing data between requests.

Is there a way to retrieve a unique identifier for each line within the same transaction (e.g., invoice line items) using the API? If not, is there an alternative method or approach to reliably match lines from the General Ledger report to the detailed transaction lines from another API call?

Thank you for your help!

Unique Line ID for Transactions in General Ledger Report

Let me route you to the appropriate support that can help you with the unique Line ID when running the General Ledger through the Application Program Interface (API), Henry.

We recommend posting this question to our separate online forum called Intuit Developer Community. One of the experts handling the API will assist you with this one. Here's how to post your concern:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.developer.intuit.com/s/.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Online under What do you need help with?
  3. Click Ask a Question.
  4. Log into your existing Intuit Developer Account or create a new one.
  5. Enter your concern.
  6. Press Ask.

You can also utilize the API Docs & Tools and Blog menu on the Intuit Developer's page. From there, you can check out the latest feature added to the application.
