Hello! I want to share my experience and see if someone else had something similar. Someone contacted me from QuickBooks - I skip his name, but says Exectutive Account Manager, offering to schedule a call about 2021 desktop service being discontinued. I confirmed the time considering switching for Online service. No one called me. When I reached out to QuickBooks Sales department, I was told that the person who contacted me is no longer with the company, however, his calendar is still active and takes phone call appointments. I was not offered to go over the issue of upgrading, that person could not even find my account.... When I asked if I can speak with someone of the next level, I was put on never ending waiting...
Not a good feeling about this service... I have been with QuickBooks for 20 years all together.
Is it time to switch for something else? Or, it was a one bad luck situation?
I would appreciate other memeber to share there experience. Thank you!
Why do you have to upgrade to QBD 2024? Do you need to run any add-ons after May? e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment
2021 edition is ending in the end of the month and I want to learn about options, particularly online services.
What online service do you need?
Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, ConA.
You are correct that QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021, including QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Desktop Premier, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions v21, will be discontinued on May 31, 2024.
After this date, its online services, such as Payroll, Online Banking, Merchant Services, and add-ons, will no longer provide live technical support in case of issues.
If you rely on these services, I recommend considering upgrading your current QuickBooks version to access new features, improved security, better software integration, and ongoing support.
In the event you choose to upgrade your QuickBooks version, please know that you'll need a new license as QBDT has reverted to a subscription-based model.
To upgrade, here's how:
You can also find a step-by-step video guide in our How to upgrade your QuickBooks software article.
Moreover, since you are particularly searching for online services, you can consider switching to QuickBooks Online (QBO) for greater flexibility and collaboration.
With QBO, you can access your data anytime, anywhere, sync bank transactions, pay bills, and more. For a full list of subscription features, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Online pricing page.
You can find more details on how to switch to QBO by going to this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online
If you decide to go with QBO, you can follow our Getting Started article for detailed steps on using the platform.
Also, you can apply for a payments account if you choose to. If your application is approved, you'll be able to process card and ACH transactions through QuickBooks products.
We'll be here in the Community if you have further questions about upgrades and subscriptions in QBDT. We'll do our best to assist. Keep safe.
Thank you. So, an appointment with your sales person is not necessary?
Lack of service today is very concerning...
