Buy now & saveI have 20+ users, 18 Company databases and everyone is located at different locations. All databases are on our company server.
I believe if I upgrade to Platinum, no one will have access until they download the new software. Since I have many users not in one spot, I have some questions.
1. Once I upgrade and download the new software, do I just connect to each database? Will it allow me to open the companies? Or do I need to convert data first?
2. How will users download the software? If they open the old software will it prompt them to download the new version? Or do I need send them a link? Where is this done?
3. What other issues may I encounter? Has anyone here done this with mutli-users?
4. Why can't I speak with someone at QuickBooks other than sales consultants? This question seems to be too difficult for them to answer and there isn't a technical support numbers to call. Help!
Good evening, @Dan C2.
Welcome to the Community!
Are you only accessing the company file from the server? If so, each user will need to install the upgrade on their computer. They will not be promoted to do so. They'll need the install link, license, and product numbers to complete the install. Once you've installed, they will need to ensure they all access the company file using the exact same file path.
Here's a guide to to help provide additional information: Install QuickBooks Desktop.
Reaching out to our Customer Support Team within the product will also get you to the department you need.
Feel free to come back if you're referring to a different route or information. I'll be waiting for your response!
1. Once I upgrade and download the new software, do I just connect to each database?
You have to connect each individual file separately on each QB Desktop 2024.
Will it allow me to open the companies? Or do I need to convert data first?
This will upgrade the file the first time you try to open it in QB Desktop 2024.
2. How will users download the software? If they open the old software will it prompt them to download the new version? Or do I need send them a link?
You can ask them to download the installer file. If all users are on the same network, you only need to download the installer file once and share it from your server. You don't need to ask them to download it separately.
3. What other issues may I encounter? Has anyone here done this with mutli-users?
There are many possible issues that can arise. Starting from the server, your network environment, or each PC your users are using (e.g. Windows). I would recommend prioritizing any users who need to use any features that are only available on Enterprise Platinum.
4. Why can't I speak with someone at QuickBooks other than sales consultants? This question seems to be too difficult for them to answer and there isn't a technical support numbers to call. Help!
Keep in mind, their Sales Team has no real experience installing or upgrading anything. They are just reading their scripts. Allowing each user to contact Intuit Support separately could also compromise their work rhythm.
I would recommend you to contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for assistance. There are several important points below
1. You need to purchase a new license for QB Desktop 2024. If you purchase it from Fiat Lux, they can give you a discount.
2. Don't forget to cancel your QB Desktop 2022 license later.
3. They can be your single point of contact to help schedule upgrades for each of your users.
