When trying to log in to QuickBooks Self Employed, I get the following error: HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request. If I log in via Incognito mode, it works fine.

I've already tried clearing my cache and cookies but that doesn't make any difference. I'm using Chrome.

Hi there, OmaCoder.

I see you're having difficulty logging into your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. I'll provide some information to ensure that you can access your account.

The "HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request" is a common browser issue if the request sent to the server is unavailable. In this case, since you can access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account through a private/incognito browser and clearing the cache didn't fix it, we can perform additional troubleshooting steps to isolate and resolve the issue.

The first thing we need to check is your browser's version. Ensure that you have the latest version of Chrome installed on your computer. Outdated browser versions can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Updating to the latest version may help resolve the problem. You can also try other supported browsers that work perfectly with QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'd also recommend consulting an IT professional to help you check your browser's settings and extensions. Some browser extensions or add-ons, such as ad blockers, privacy or security extensions, and browser toolbar extensions, could interfere with the usual functioning of websites. Disable any extensions you have installed in Chrome and log in again.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support Team for additional assistance. They have the necessary tools to access your account in a safe environment to investigate further.

Let me know if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'm always here to assist.

I get the log in error too. It's a disaster.

I contacted support and they told me that their back-end engineers have advised that I must delete all of my saved site data and cookies from my browser. I said that didn't make any sense why I needed to delete everything when I'm only having issues with their particular website and not having issues with any other website that I use, and that deleting cookies and site data for everything will be detrimental to me and is not a valid solution.

I found this article on how to selectively delete chrome saved data and cookies so that it doesn't impact all of your web apps. If you are using chrome, you could try this.

Regarding your browser, @OmaCoder. I don't recommend clearing your cookies, as this file is important for storing user information. However, you can clear or refresh your cache, as this is responsible for smoothing out your access to websites.
