Why is my QuickBooks checking account on hold?

Hi there, jacobgrhm. I’m here to help you understand why your QuickBooks Checking is on hold.

If you are new to QuickBooks, the initial payment may take longer to process as the system sets everything up. If the payment you accepted is on hold, it does not necessarily indicate a problem.

Note that we're reviewing the payment to ensure everything is in order. QuickBooks can temporarily place an account on hold to verify certain information. Our support team will review it within two business days. After evaluating, you can proceed with processing the payment.

You can check if the payments are on hold and see the status of your customer's payment.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Select Transactions.
  3. If it shows Withheld under the Method column, your payment is on hold, and we're reviewing the fund.

Additionally, when funds are on hold, QuickBooks will notify you via email with instructions on how to proceed. Please check your spam and junk folders in the email associated with QuickBooks to find the steps provided for resolving the issue.

Furthermore, if it's already beyond two business days and the payment is still on hold, I recommend contacting our Payment support team to check further on the status of your funds.

In addition, refer to this article to learn the deposit timeframe for customer payments into your bank account in QuickBooks: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.
