Why was I charged $40 this April instead of $20

Hello, @golajide02.

There are several reasons the amount of your monthly billing increases. Either you subscribed to payroll or you had a promotional discount that has expired. Subscribing to payroll has an additional charge since it is an add-on service.

You can check our products and pricing through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/.

Also, you can review your subscription rates and charges within your account. These are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Billing Subscription.
  3. Click View Payment History.

It'd also be best to contact our Customer Support Team so they can pull up your account in a secure environment and check this charge.

You can do it by going to the Help icon at the top right of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. See this article for detailed guidance: Contact the QuickBooks Online Customer Support team.

To know more on how to manage your subscription, check the following article: Update your billing and subscription info in QuickBooks Online

If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know in the comment section. I'll be always around ready to help.

@golajide02

Your discounted period is expired and you have to pay regular price now. If you wish to get the lower price, you will need another effort. Utilize the 3rd party tool to migrate your data between QBO accounts.

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

Once you are ready to proceed, open a NEW QBO account with a current discounted plan. You may get a discounted price for up to 6 months.
