@Dennis Bohnert Assuming you mean the ability to be paid electronically within QuickBooks itself, you sort of can't.
QuickBooks basically has a 3-year useful life for their live support for desktop versions prior to 2024. I believe that includes everything from downloading bank feeds directly to payment processing.
You can probably find a suitable third party app to integrate into QuickBooks, but that's something you'd want to talk to @Fiat Lux - ASIA or their group about.
Do you need to accept ACH payments from your customers or else?
Setting up ACH money transfers can significantly improve your business's financial efficiency and security, Dennis. I'm here to assist you with all the information you need about setting up ACH money transfers.
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2018 has officially been discontinued. As a result, various associated services, such as QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, Desktop Payments, live technical support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other related features, are no longer accessible.
In this case, you can consider upgrading your QBDT to the newest and supported version. Upgrading will ensure you have access to ongoing support and updates and allow you to take advantage of new features that enhance your accounting capabilities. Once upgraded, you can sign up for QuickBooks Payments, enabling you to process payments electronically and streamline your financial transactions.
Here's how:
You can also apply directly on the QuickBooks Payments website. This option allows you to set up your account independently.
Once your application is approved, your QuickBooks Payments account will automatically connect to the product from which you signed up, ensuring a seamless integration. After that, you can start processing customer payments electronically. I'll add an article for additional insights about this. This resource provides comprehensive guidance on handling your payment processes within QuickBooks effectively: Take and process payments in QuickBooks Desktop.
Alternatively, you can also consider moving your data to QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you opt out of this option, create a backup copy of your company file first. Then, you can download a trial version of the latest QBDT and restore the backup file there. Once done, you can now move your QBDT file to QBO to start using the ACH function for processing electronic payments.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the upgrade process or setting up QuickBooks Payments, please feel free to comment below, Dennis. I’m here to assist you in managing this crucial part of your financial operations and to help you fully leverage the advantages of ACH transfers.
