All my clients have recurring invoices. Most have recurring transactions templates. What do I lose by not having recurring transaction templates for all of my clients?

We bill the same amount quarterly to all our clients. I'm just leaning the system and see that not all our clients have recurring transaction templates. I'm trying to make sure there isn't an issue that I need to address.

I've got just the answers you're looking for, @RanchoST.

It's optional to use the recurring transaction template, so not having to use one for your clients won't cause any issues. You can create one at any time you need it. The benefit of using the recurring transaction feature, you can save time by automating your transactions instead of inputting them manually.

In case they are not comfortable automating transaction creation, you may also set up a Recurring Template for reminders. This way, the transactions are not sent until you decide to create and send them.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Lists, select Recurring Transactions.
  3. Select New.
  4. Select the type of transaction to create, and then select OK.
  5. Enter a Template name.
  6. Choose Reminder as the type.

These reminders can be found on Dashboard in the Tasks section. Select View remindersTo help you out in creating and handling recurring transactions, you can check out these articles:

Let me also add this article that can guide you on how to personalize your invoice and control what information your customer sees: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

You can always post a reply in this thread if you have other questions about managing your recurring transactions. I’m just a few clicks away.
