Hi there, florahomeinspect.

I can provide details about getting your missing bank transactions from last year to your QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can manually upload old bank transactions to your QBO account. To do this, you need to go to your bank's website to get those statements.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions for how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Please be aware that every financial institution has different steps. Here are steps for Bank of AmericaChase, and Wells Fargo.
  3. Check the date range for the download. It should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

Once done, here's how to upload them to QBO:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, then Transactions and select Bank transactions. Or go to Bank transactions.
  2. Click the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Select the Link account ▼ dropdown and then Upload from file.
  4. Tick Drag and drop or select files. Then select Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  8. Select Yes.
  9. When you accept your transactions, hit  Done.

To know more about uploading bank transactions to QBO manually, consider checking out this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

In case you'll encounter error messages during the process, refer to this article for the detailed steps to fix them: Fix bank upload errors in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I've got you this article to help you categorize and match your bank transactions in QBO: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I also recommend visiting this page to learn more about reconciling transactions that are older than your opening balance in QBO for future reference: Reconcile older transactions in QBO.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about this or anything else. I'll be happy to answer them. Stay safe.

Another option, use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo) as a workaround.
