Anyone having problems reconciling

Nice to have you in the Community space, @tinad.

Let me share with you some factors that can causes differences when reconciling your accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO). It could be:

  • Someone entered an incorrect ending balance at the start of the reconciliation.
  • Someone entered transactions into QuickBooks that haven't cleared your bank yet.
  • There are missing or duplicate transactions in QuickBooks.

Rest assured I’m here to help you get around this issue so you can start reconciling your account. To begin, let’s ensure to enter the correct amount in your ending balance. QuickBooks uses this to check for accuracy. Let me show you how.

  1. From the reconciliation window, select Edit info.
  2. Review the Ending balance and Ending date.
  3. Check your bank statement. Make edits as needed.
  4. Select Save when you're done.

If there are still differences, I suggest to proceed to Step 3 in this article for additional troubleshooting steps: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, I recommend working with your accountant for further guidance. This way, we can guarantee your accounts are accurate after making some changes. If you don’t have one, you can visit our ProAdvisor page and look for an accountant near your place.

Once everything is in place, you can now reconcile your account whenever you’re ready.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance reconciling your account or managing your QuickBooks. I’m more than happy to help you. Keep safe and stay well!

I believe it is meant to be off when you start. Is the amount the difference between your beginning and ending balance? If so, that's what you want.
