bank accounts not updating

Hello,

For some reason my two bank accounts that I have linked to QBO are not updating now.  And are saying the last time it was updated was 7/2/24, which is not true because I update them every morning and this just started yesterday.  But what is weird is that my business credit card account that I also have linked is showing current.  So I am confused.  When I click update it just spins and spins for a while then the two banking accounts goes back to 7/2/24 and the credit card account says moments ago.

Ensuring that you can regularly update your bank transactions is my priority, @ametz1201.

Beforehand, may I know the name of your bank account? This way, I can gather more information and check for any ongoing investigations.

If your bank transactions are still not downloaded, I recommend checking your bank's website for any ongoing maintenance. This way, we can check if that causes the delay in syncing the transactions between your bank and QuickBooks. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Access the website of your bank or credit card.
  2. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  3. Review your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  4. Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  5. Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

If everything looks good, return to your QuickBooks, then select Update by going to the Transactions and then Bank transactions.

Furthermore, I'll leave these references to help you straighten out your books:

If you have other banking concerns or need assistance with your transactions, you can add comments anytime. I’ll be here always.

I bank with PNC, if that is what you are asking.  I have been on their website and logged into my account and don't see any messages about maintenance.  But I don't understand that it's now saying 7/2/24 for my 2 banking accounts even though I know it has updated after that because I update the accounts every morning and go over the transactions that came over from the bank that day since that date.  I don't know why it picked that date.  Also my 3rd account that I have linked in QBO is my credit card and that is through that same bank.

So I just clicked the update button to update my accounts and it still has the date of 7/2/24 for my 2 checking accounts and says moments ago for my credit card account but two transactions showed up dated 7/17/24 that are 2 checks that were cashed from my vendors that are for one of my checking accounts.  So I am confused why it is showing 7/2/24 for the 2 checking accounts.

Thanks for following up with those additional details, ametz1201.

I want to make sure the correct update date is showing for your bank accounts in QuickBooks Online.

To rule out any browser related issues, I recommend clearing the cache as an initial troubleshooting step. The cache is used to collect frequently used data to make loading web pages quicker and easier. If it becomes too full it can cause certain viewing and performance errors within the system. Clearing the cache will remove anything that's preventing the date from displaying correctly. Here's how to get this done in Chrome for example:

1. At the top right, click More (three vertical dots).
2. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
3. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
4. Check the boxes next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
5. Click Clear data.

The following article provides similar steps for other browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online

Please give this a try, log out and back into QuickBooks, and check the date once more. I'm only a comment or post away if you have any other questions.
