Bank Accounts - Updates and Old Accounts

Let me guide you on how to successfully stop your old bank accounts from automatically updating in your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, PurpleJay.

Yes, you're correct. Turning off an old bank account in the Bank accounts section will remove or hide all your related transactions. To stop them from automatically updating, you'll have to delete them. Then, you need to contact our QBSE Support team to retrieve the data to a Cash account. This way, you'll still be able to see them for future use.

To delete your old bank accounts, here's how: 

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Bank accounts.
3. Locate the account you want to delete.
4. Click the Trash can icon.
5. Type "Delete" to confirm.
6. When you're ready, select Delete to permanently delete the account.

All your transactions that include any special calculations such as split percentages, as well as any CSV files imported to that account, are deleted.
