Bank feed removal error help

I am unable to remove bank feed from one bank i no longer am using. when i click deactivated all online serves i get the error "Invalid Customer ID. Customer ID can only contain alpha numeric values". I tried re sorting, rebuilding, creating  a portable company file and restoring and nothing.

Any advice?

Bank feed removal error help

Since you already performed the two solutions, we can do the third one, deactivating bank feeds using Excel. Here's how:

 

For Windows (Make sure to switch to single-user mode. Go to File menu, then click Switch to Single-user mode.)

 

Step 1: Export Chart of Accounts

 

  1. Sign in to your company file as an admin.
  2. Go to File and select Utilities.
  3. Select Export, then Lists to IIF Files.
  4. Select Chart of Accounts, then OK.
  5. Browse to where you want to save the file.
  6. Enter a filename, then select Save.

Step 2: Edit the IIF file in Excel

  1.  Open Microsoft Excel, then go to File, and select Open. Then browse to the folder where you saved the IIF file.
  2. Select the IIF file, then Open.
  3.  In the Text Import Wizard, select Next, then Next, and then Finish.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see QB ONLINE.
  5. Change Y to N for all the banking columns:

      • OLBANKING
      • OLBILLPAY
      • OLENABLED
      • OLTAB

  6. Go to File, then select Save. Select Yes to keep using the current format, then close Excel.

Step 3: Import the IIF file to QuickBooks 

 

Note: For more details on how to import IIF files, see Improved IIF Import.

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to File, then select Utilities.
  3. Select Import, then IIF Files.
  4. Browse to the location of your IIF file.
  5. Select the IIF file, then Open.
  6. Select OK to confirm the import was successful.

 

To ensure bank feeds are deactivated, check if the lightning bolt icon is gone. Go to Lists, then select Chart of Accounts.

 

After performing this and the issue persists, I suggest contacting our customer support team.

Bank feed removal error help

I have had a similar problem since upgrading to QB Desktop 2024. My primary checking account shows as connected (lightning bolt present) in the Chart of Accounts, but does not show in the Bank Feeds window. When I go to import the bank feed, it does not give the option to connect it to this checking account, apparently because it thinks that account is already connected.

 

Trying to disconnect by the normal means does not remove the lightning bolt.

If I switch the radio button to Activate, and back to Deactivate before I save, the program crashes every time.

I have tried Sorting, Verify and Rebuild, etc. to no effect.

When I download the IIF file for the chart of accounts, this checking account is NOT LISTED at the bottom with my other accounts (which I was able to Deactivate and Reactivate after the upgrade just fine).

 

So, is there ANOTHER method for Deactivating an account from bank feeds when the normal method and the work-around using the IIF file won't do it?
