You can create rules in Express Mode, Advanced Mode, or from transactions. Each mode will display and handle transactions differently.
Here's how to create rules in Express Mode:
- In your top menu bar, go to Banking, Bank Feeds, then Bank Feeds Center.
- Click the Rules icon and use your Manage Rules drop-down, then choose New. You can also hit Edit Rule to modify an existing one.
- From Add Rules Details, name your rule and set its conditions. If possible, this is where you'll be able to mark it as billable.
- In the When section, add or remove conditions for descriptions.
- Access your Do this section and provide a new name or add categories for accounts.
You can also create Bank Feeds rules automatically:
- In the top menu bar, go to Preferences, then Checking.
- Access your Company Preferences and open Express Mode.
- Tick the checkboxes for Create rules automatically and Always ask before creating a rule.
- From your transaction list in the Banking Center, specify a name and account, then select Quick Add.
