bank feeds are set up but general ledger accounts not in drop down

Hi there, therealmob. Let me share some insights about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks Desktop.

It appears that you are trying to select an account when categorizing transactions in the bank feeds; may I ask which accounts you are referring to?

In QuickBooks Desktop, any active accounts in your chart of accounts should normally show when categorizing bank transactions in the Bank Feeds window.

If not, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to check and fix any potential data damage. To do this, we can use the Verify and Rebuild Tools. I'll show you how to do it.

To verify:

  1. Go to File, then choose Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data.
  3. Click on  OK to close all windows. If you see “Your data has failed the integrity check” you need to rebuild your file. If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.

To rebuild:

  1. Click on File, then Utilities.
  2. Choose Rebuild Data
  3. Select OK to close all windows.
  4. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, select OK. If you don’t want to do a backup, select Cancel to continue rebuilding your company file.
  5. Once the rebuild is finished, hit OK.

For more details about the tool, you can check out this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
