To close the reconcile window, click the drop-down arrow and select either Finish now, Save for later, or Close without saving, Ziggy. Let me explain each option.

If you've reviewed and reconciled all your transactions and are ready to complete the process, click Finish now to finalize everything and mark the reconciliation as complete.

If you're not ready to finish, select Save for later to save your progress and continue later.

If you haven't made any changes to the transactions or want to exit without affecting anything, click Close without saving.

I've attached a screenshot for your visual reference:

To ensure that the bank register displays the transactions, return to your Chart of accounts, select the account, and then click View register. Also, make sure to filter the date range to All dates.

It did not work. Got myself into more trouble as the bank balance and QB balance are way off.

Dont know how to reverse whatever happened.

Will allow access to my computer to solve problem.

I appreciate you offering access to your computer and letting me know about the issue, Ziggy. There are several reasons why an imbalance occurs between your bank balance and your QuickBooks balance after reconciliation.

Here are the following:

  1. Mismatch Beginning balance: The starting balance in QuickBooks may not match the beginning balance on your bank statement.
  2. Unreconciled or missing transactions: Some transactions might be missing or not marked as cleared.
  3. Data entry errors: Incorrect amounts, dates, or duplicate entries can cause discrepancies.
  4. Bank fees or interest not recorded: Charges or interest from the bank may not be entered in QuickBooks.
  5. Transactions reconciled in error: Some transactions may have been reconciled incorrectly.
  6. Incorrect adjustments: Manual changes made during reconciliation can cause account imbalances.

To verify whether the following caused the imbalance, I recommend contacting our Live Support team. They can connect to your screen to double-check and resolve the issue immediately.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help menu or the (?) icon in the upper-right corner of QBO.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Type "contact support" in the chat box and press Enter.
  4. Provide a brief description of your concern and click Continue.
  5. Choose your preferred option. Have us call you or chat.
