You don't have to worry, even if this is one of your first times doing a bank reconciliation, JM. I'll be here to guide you through the process, ensuring you understand and feel confident as you manage those deposits and proceed with reconciling your accounts.
Since you mentioned the "Record Deposit" option used in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), I'll share the steps for this. Moreover, it's not possible to record deposits from the Reconcile window.
If the deposits are not supposed to be included in the reconciliation process, you can unselect them from the reconciliation window and begin reconciling. Here's how:
- Go to Banking and pick Reconcile.
- Select the Account you want to reconcile, then tap Continue.
- In the Deposit and Credits Section, uncheck the deposits.
- Click the Reconcile Now button to start reconciling.
However, if you want to reverse these deposits, please refer to the steps below:
- Go to the Reports menu and select Report Center.
- Click the Banking section, then find the Deposit Detail report.
- Hit Run.
- Locate and open the deposit you want to delete.
- Right-click and hit Delete deposit, then tap OK.
