Bank transactions

There are several reasons why duplicate transactions may appear in your bank transactions within QuickBooks Online (QBO), Dave.

This could happen due to:

  • Bank Feed Sync Issues: Errors during the synchronization process can cause duplicate transactions.
  • Disconnecting and Reconnecting the Bank Account: Re-establishing a connection may sometimes pull in previously imported transactions as duplicates.
  • Bank Rules Misconfiguration: Incorrectly configured bank rules can apply to similar transactions multiple times, creating duplicates.

To remove duplicate transactions, here's how:

  1. Go to Bank transactions in your QBO account.
  2. Select the credit card account where duplicate transactions are appearing.
  3. Check the box next to the duplicate transactions you want to exclude.
  4. Click on Batch Actions at the top.
  5. Select Exclude Selected.

Once excluded, the duplicate transactions will no longer appear in your For Review tab. Please note that excluded transactions are removed from your workflow but will not affect your books or financial reports.

Bank transactions

Thank you.

i originally excluded them from the feed and delete them but then they reappear next time the feed refreshes.

i did not disconnect and reconnect the account either.

Bank transactions

You can resolve duplicate transactions without disconnecting your bank account in QuickBooks Online, Dave.

Instead of disconnecting, you can start by refreshing your bank feed to check if the duplicate transactions appear again. It’s also helpful to log into your bank’s online portal to make sure there are no duplicate transactions on the bank’s side.

On top of that, clearing your browser's cache and Intuit-specific cookies can resolve unusual display issues that causes duplicate transactions to show up after being excluded and deleted.

If the problem persists, I recommend reaching out to our Live Support Team. They have specialized tools and resources to securely analyze the issue. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Type Contact Support in the search bar.
  3. Select Contact Us at the bottom of the page.
  4. Follow the prompts to connect via Chat or Request a Callback.

You can check their support hours to reach them conveniently.
