Buy nowI am receiving what appears to be an erroneous message when attempting to save a banking rule.
I have set up a rule within Quickbooks that produces the expected result upon testing. However, when I attempt to save the rule, I get the following error: "Amount conditions cannot be negative or contain invalid characters."
The amount condition I have established is expressed as a positive number (not negative), and I have not used any special characters within the field.
Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for sharing your concern in QuickBooks Community, .
Let me offer some troubleshooting steps to address the error when using bank rules.
Sometimes, an accumulation of excessive cache in your browser can lead to unexpected issues with the product. This could be the reason behind the error message, even if you have met all the necessary conditions.
To isolate the problem, I recommend performing some troubleshooting steps. Start by opening your account in a private window. This will help us determine if the error is related to a browser issue and allow us to resolve it.
Here's how to access incognito mode:
If it works in incognito mode, you can improve the situation by clearing your browser's cache. This will remove temporarily stored files and free up space. Additionally, you may want to try using other supported, up-to-date browsers for a more comprehensive test.
Once everything is in order, you can refer to this guide in the future: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It contains instructions on ensuring that your bank and credit card statement balances always match your QuickBooks balance.
We are always available to help you with any other QuickBooks questions you may have. Have a wonderful day!
I have the same issue and unable to save a bank rule even though the amount is NOT negative and contains no special letter or symbols etc. I tried using different browsers, tried opening private window, no luck. It looks like it is not browser side issue.
