Batch Action Add/Approve not working

Using QB 2016 Pro.  I have downloaded transactions as usual, given all transactions their payee and accounts, and when I go to the 'Batch Action' and click 'Add/Approve' nothing happens.  All the transactions are still there, completely categorized.  Even when I go to the 'Action' section on the far right and hit 'Quick Add' for an individual transaction, it will not do anything. Doesn't give me an error code, doesn't clear anything, everything just stays there.

Batch Action Add/Approve not working

Hello there, @JanClan.

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I'd be glad to help add/approve your downloaded transactions successfully.

To single out the cause of this unexpected behavior, you may need to try adding/approving transactions using a sample file. If it works fine with the sample file, open your company file and start verifying and rebuilding data.

Verifying the data self-identifies the most commonly known data issues within a company file and rebuilding data self-resolves most data integrity issues that the verify data finds. For the detailed instructions, you may check this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the same thing happens, you may need to repair your QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted with the result by adding a comment below, I'd be glad to help. Wishing you continued success!

Did you make sure they were all Selected? The Batch Approve is going to work on the Checkmarked Transactions and leave uncheckmarked for you to work on.

Yes, I understand that-I have been using quickbooks for years. I tried with just a few checked to see if they would approve and I tried with all checked.

QB 2016 is reaching end of life in May 2019 (4 months from now).

Intuit has a 3-year lifecycle. Things such as Windows updates, web updates and security requirements are part of the reason.

QB 2019 has been out for 6 months, already. I recommend updating now, you get 3.5 years from that 3-year program, you get the Newer functions compliant with Windows 10 and Web and banking security as are currently established.
