Bug report - Creating groups and needing to close QB for inventory item.

I've been creating groups for inventory items that make up finished products we sell.

One item is used in a few different end products.  That item is set up.

When the group it constructed it will take with the first group for that end product.

When trying to use it in a second group QB asks if want to set up that inventory item, even though it has already been set up.

If one closes out of QB and goes back in to set up a new group that item is now available to use in this next group's end product.

Each time a new group is constructed for an end product that is using that inventory item one needs to close out and then reopen QB in order to enter it is as a component of that new group.

Bug report - Creating groups and needing to close QB for inventory item.

We can perform troubleshooting steps, Susan607.

Let's create a dummy inventory item, then merge it with the item that you've already set up. To create a dummy item:

  1. From the Items menu, select the New.
  2. Select Inventory Part as the type of item.
  3. Fill in the item fields.
  4. Save the item.

Now, we can merge them already. Here's how:

  1. Go again to the Items menu.
  2. Right-click on the item dummy item, then select Edit Item.
  3. In the Edit Item window, change the item name to the same name as the item you’re combining it with.
  4. Select OK then, Yes to confirm.

Once done, create a new Group item. If the same thing happens, we can run the Verify and Rebuild Data. It helps to fix any damage on your company file.

If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. I'm always here to help.
