Can I add a bank account without connecting it online?

Hello there, @jeremy-rjlcompan. I'd be glad to help you add your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) without connecting it online.

Yes, Fiat Lux - ASIA is correct. In addition to his response, let me give you steps on how you can add the bank account to QBO and how you can import your transactions.

You can add the bank account on your Chart of Accounts page. Please refer to the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account and go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. In the Chart of Accounts screen, select the New tab.
  4. Pick Bank for the Account Type. You can select any detail type that suits the transactions you want to track.
  5. Enter the Name for the account.
  6. Choose when you want to start tracking your finances. Fill in the amount in the account and the as of date in the Balance field. Enter today's date if you want to start tracking immediately.
  7. Click Save and Close once done.

For your reference about the process, check out this article: Add an account to your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

When finished, the next thing you need to do is manually upload the transactions to that account.

Once transactions are in, you'll now have to categorize and match them to ensure they are allocated to the correct account.
