Can I stop QBO from autofilling in the customer/vendor/payee from imported bank transactions - because it's usually wrong

They have made updates to this and you can now turn it off.  When you are in the banking tab, go to the gear icon in the under "Go to bank register" and deselect "enable suggested categorization"

Can I stop QBO from autofilling in the customer/vendor/payee from imported bank transactions - because it's usually wrong

Could someone explain to me how anyone outside of this forum could possibly have guessed that the solution to QBO changing or auto-adding payees, and doing so incorrectly more than 99% of the time, would be to disable a setting involving categorization? This issue has cost me hundreds of hours of billable time that I can’t bill … all because someone at QBO reconfigured the way payees are handled for downloaded transactions and apparently didn’t bother to tell anyone serious. Seriously, QBO, be better.

We recognize the value of your billable time and the effect it has on your business's financial health, @spm2005

Disabling the setting did not resolve the issue, as the system automatically fills the payee information. Your feedback and experience are valued. I suggest sending feedback to our product engineers. Your input is crucial in helping us understand the real-world impact of these issues. To do this, here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  4. Enter a brief description of your feature request.
  5. Once you're ready, press Send.

We´re having exactly the same issue at our end. QBO keeps on automatically adding Vendors / Customers that double up with EVERY new bank transaction, and then we need to manually delete the added double payments and customers, which you can only deactivate. Please just bring a setting that allows us to deactivate the automations on our own terms and it would also be helpful to have the options in one place. This topic popped up already one year ago!

Its unbelievable, we changed to QB to save time and now we end up with extra unnecessary tasks, and of course when contacted the support was clueless, which means even more time wasted.
