Can you tell us what happens after you type in the code? I'd also like to ask the name of the bank. This is for us to check if there's an existing alert or investigation related to your concern.

No is did not resolve this issue. I contacted NBT bank and they said there was a computer problem and they would put in a work ticket. This was a few days ago and I still can not pull in my bank account into QB. When I try to put it in it sends me a message to put in a code and each time I do it does not update. I then ask me again when I hit update to put in a code and no update. I am not sure if I need to do something on QB side to resolve this issue. I will call the bank tomorrow to see if the work ticket was done.
Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser. If the same error persists, you can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
