Buy nowWe're unable to sync the Desktop version with Quickbooks Online, mdan0912.
These two products are using different platforms and designed to work independently from each other. If you want to keep or use the two versions simultaneously, any transactions you've created in QBO will not automatically show up in the Desktop version or vice versa.
Although, you can move or convert data from one platform to another. Check out these articles for more details:

Why do you need to sync them? If you need to consolidate them, you may find a 3rd party app to do so.
Hi, I'm interested in this question. Is there a 3rd party app that allows you to consolidate QB online and QB Enterprises? I have 10 companies I'm running and have one online and the rest in Enterprise and need to run consolidated balance sheet and P&L regularly.
Hi there, rutherfordvtm.
In QuickBooks, there is a lot of third-party apps that ingrates with QuickBooks. However, I'd recommend reaching out to their support for any assistance in consolidating the process. They know the ins and outs of the program.
To learn more on integration in QuickBooks and third-party app, you can refer to this website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/.

Is integration between QB online and QB desktop an upcoming feature we can look forward to? Each one has its distinct advantages, and integration would allow for the best of both worlds and a superior product. For example, only QB online will allow me to "receipt snap" with my mobile phone for easier bookkeeping, while only QB desktop will import data directly into TurboTax Business for easier tax filing. Why can't we have both? I understand they are on different platforms, but let's not pretend that a skilled team of engineers couldn't integrate the two - or at least provide QB Online with all the same beneficial features that QB desktop has.

Utilize the expense management app to integrate with QB Desktop.

Utilize a bookkeeping app to integrate with QB Online and export a TXF file.
What expense management app? What bookkeeping app? These aren't specific terms, and a web search is not turning up anything helpful. Quickbooks itself is an expense management and bookkeeping app.
Check you PM. Hope it helps.
Is this still the case or has anything changed since this post. Due to company reasons it would be nice to be able to work in Desktop and convert to online as needed for owner viewing. Also we integrate expensify also.
Just wondered since this post is from Feb 2020
Consider to deploy a private cloud at your premise. Your owner may access your data anytime by internet connection.
So this would work if they are not on the premises. Thanks.
You may combine your current LAN users and remote users to access your company file at the same time.

Explore this app to consolidate data from your QBD files, QBO accounts, and other apps into a single dashboard.
I am a small based, at this time, one customer bookkeeper. My client has the new QB DT Pro Plus 2022 version. I need to know if I purchase the on line version or should I purchase the desktop version(which is said to phase out soon). In order to complete and update his accounts. I do not have an accountant copy as I used his laptop to start the updates. I did make a backup copy to utilize on my home office laptop.
What QB should I purchase keeping in mind I am one person in a one person office. I may once certified add more customers.
Regards,
Tina Hargrave
It sure would make life easier for us that want both.
thanks for bringing this up so I did not have too.

QB Desktop and QB Online are two different products. Consider purchasing a one time license of QB Desktop 2022 Accountant edition to help your client. There has been no announcement regarding the US and CA version of the phase out of QB Desktop. They only discontinue to release the new version for QB Desktop UK version.
